FOR INSTRUCTORS

Detailed problem editor

← Back to the picture builder, the quicker way to make a problem. Here you can edit every word: write the problem, the Step 1 cards and the solution blocks. Share it with students as a link or a file. No accounts, nothing uploaded: the problem lives in the link or file you share.

1 · Problem

2 · Simulation

Students see a cart (or the figure you choose) moving on a level track under a constant applied force, with optional friction. The simulation checks your numerical answers.

Placeholders: keep text in sync with these settings

Type a placeholder such as {v0} or {a} in any statement, card, block or feedback. Students see the current value, so changing a setting updates the text everywhere. Use plain numbers where you want a fixed value (for example, the wrong number in a trap card). A plotted answer left blank also uses the simulation’s value.

3 · Step 1 cards: knowns and unknowns

Each card belongs in Knowns, Unknowns or neither box. “Neither” cards are traps: write feedback saying why.

4 · Step 2: solution steps and blocks

Each step has one correct block and any number of wrong blocks. Wrong blocks need misconception feedback. Optionally, give a wrong block the acceleration or v₀ it implies so the ghost shows that motion, and give blocks a numerical answer to plot on the graphs.
